Austell is a city in Cobb County, Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta municipal area. Austell was incorporated in 1885. The town was named after General Alfred Austell (1814–1881), in gratitude of his endeavors to bring important railways to the South. General Austell also established the Atlanta National Bank, which was later renamed First Atlanta.
